Bancha is a common green tea, consumed by millions of people throughout Asia. Bancha is the 2nd-blush Cinderella sister to the prized 1st-blush Sencha, and in the condition it's seen in many retail settings, that's an understandable and not entirely underserved response. But this is not your 祖父(grandfather's) bancha. Honestly, the quality of this Bancha exceeds the quality of many senchas I've sampled. Bancha has a straw-like aroma and a light, slightly sweet flavor.
